Futures Taxes - Derivatives PnL

Hello,

I got into trading crypto futures this year, and unfortunately forgot to keep the trading records. Unfortunately, the exchange (BYDFI) only allows Spot history download, and when I asked for the futures trading history, I got back a corrupt data where majority of the earlier columns in PnL and fees were lost. They say this may be the best that I can get.

While I patiently wait, I do want to know if worst comes to worst, if I could simply enter one giant USDT PnL row… as I know how much I entered the exchange and left with. I don’t think the amount will be any different when the math is considered.

Would this be allowed? I am filing in the US with IRS.

Hi @Mike2

From a technical perspective, you can aggregate your transactions into a single entry. However, from a tax perspective, I recommend consulting a certified crypto tax accountant before doing so.
