Easy Crypto CSV file

Hi Team, My CSV file has been interpreted by Koinly as SELLS instead of BUYS. I have checked the file and it is has been correctly downloaded a year ago. As i am going back through my files for 2021-22 i cross referenced my bank files also. Rather than re-doing it all manually and having to go back through the 2019-20 tax year also, are you able to rectify this, please?

Which exchange/wallet is this regarding? EASY CRYPTO

How did you import data into this wallet? CSV

What have you tried to fix this so far? I have re-downloaded several times and it is having trouble accepting it.

Yeah you’re not alone with this … Many of my txns have been really turned upside down. Totally Messed up lots of historical txns. I’ve been editing and inputting manual transactions a few hours most days and have been working on it for darn near 5 weeks.
EC did massive upgrade latter part of last year and completely changed their whole csv. It’s like they have used less digits and done a lot of rounding, so many of my txns show as no purchase history.

My thought to you is: I have not checked to see if Koinly has fixed their systems to align with the new EC csv. But if they have, then you need to be imported a newly downloaded csv.

Just another thought: I have not checked as yet to see if Koinly have updated their system to align with the new EC csv. If they have then you would need to be downloading a fresh csv from EC not using an old csv prior to EC’s upgrade. That may help you.

Hi @R_Wilson and @DiJohns4,

Welcome to the Discuss Community, @R_Wilson! Thank you both for shining a light on this issue!

I’ve checked in with the dev team and they are actively working on this! We don’t yet have an ETA, though we do have other means to resolve this issue right now and not delay you both further. :sparkles:

Would you please connect with our support team and send them your files? We would be happy to amend them so they can easily be imported once returned back, and also please request with the support agent that you be sent a notification for when the new Easy Crypto mapper has been fixed!

While we can fix your CSV files now and move the ball forward, the notification will signal that you’ll be able to directly import in future instances. Once the dev team has completed their magic and it’s live/ready to go, the notices will be sent out at the same time. :raised_hands:

Please do reach out to our support team for the immediate fix, and please let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you both again for your patience and for highlighting this important issue!

Have an awesome day!

Thank you Michael for picking this up and Yes I certainly would like notification as to when the EC mapping is fixed.
But I have had two rounds of you guys fixing my csv files for me to use meantime and its these that have randomly corrupted quite a few years of records - just about fixed this MESS so no thanks not wanting any more grief.
I offer a tip here though - only import the new txns into your koinly, do not rely on Koinly to skip duplicated txns as what I’d found was the newly imported csv was rounding the coin numbers so this created many duplicate txns (sadly my first approach was to go delete the old txns and embrace the new txns) SO Wished I done the opposite.

What is the email address for support team? I cannot find it anywhere.

Hi @DiJohns4,

I completely understand and truly appreciate this tip. My apologies for the continued frustration with the CSV file errors. I’ve connected and shared your helpful feedback with our technical support lead to course correct and inform the agents you’ve corresponded with. We certainly don’t want to compound anymore grief to your experience, man.

You’ve spent too much time doing manual work on this and receiving a notification on when the dev team has fixed the mapper is the way to go (as you’ve signaled that you’re nearly finished). That fix is not visible publicly on our feedback page like most of our features and integrations on the roadmap. You may have already asked a support agent to send you the notification, though if not our support team will be able to do this on your behalf.

You can connect with them here to request the notice be sent to you once it’s ready to go. For anyone else wanting to be contacted when the Easy Crypto mapper is fixed, please reach out and request that notice. :raised_hands:

I want to thank you for the tip again, DiJohns4. It’s very helpful to our teams to know from your perspective, what the ideal resolve would be. Along with our technical support lead viewing this note, we’ll ensure that our dev team is aware to factor in the appropriate changes you’ve mentioned. . Thank you very much for being thoughtful and solutions-based.

Hi, @MangoAggro,

Thank you for highlighting this! We have a few different contacts, though to have a direct email connection to the support team, please reach out here. We’ll also have live chat available for support along with other means of contact here.

I appreciate you both sharing your experiences and ideas for how we can best evolve to have a smoother process importing Easy Crypto CSVs.

Have an awesome day and thank you for shining a light on this! :sparkles:

Hi there, I stumbled across this thread out of frustration with my Easy Crypto CSV not importing into Koinly properly, the experience is horrible right now. Has there been any progress on this new Easy Crypto mapper? I’ve spent the last week trying to make sense of all the problems I’m experiencing with my latest Easy Crypto CSV data, nothing is making sense. Here is a list of the main problems I’m experiencing.

1. Koinly is getting the dates and times of txn’s all wrong, no matter how I import it.
Fixes I’ve tried:

  • Setting timezone to the CSV’s native zone - GMT+13:00 Auckland, New Zealand
  • Setting timezone on import to auto-detect (even worse)
  • I’ve re-downloaded the CSV file from Easy Crypto, deleted every txn in my Koinly Easy Crypto wallet from this financial year and re-imported the CSV. Dates/times are still wrong.

2. Many txn’s are also missing in Koinly, despite clearly being in the CSV file. Koinly is skipping dozens of txn’s from the Easy Crypto CSV file due to what it claims is “Duplicates” (see screenshots below). This “duplicates” error happens despite my Koinly Easy Crypto Wallet being completely empty of txn’s for this financial year, it’s as if there are ghost transactions somewhere.
Fixes I’ve tried:

It would be hugely appreciated if a solution can be found to this, my gains/losses are completely wrong, so I cannot file my taxes until this issue is fixed.

Many thanks
Mark

Here is another screenshot of my CSV compared with what Koinly shows. The dates/times are incorrect, and certain “Buy” orders are missing such as this highlighted ETH order which was skipped like many others due to “duplication” as shown above.

Hi @Willsy,

Thank you for shining a massive light on this! I’ve just coordinated with the dev team and they’ve prioritized this issue and said that this will be fixed in 1-2 weeks from now. My apologies for this inconvenience and thank you for your stellar patience! :raised_hands:

If you would like to be notified immediately when the team has completed their work, please ask our support team to add your vote to “Easy Crypto CSV: Bundle trades are skipped as duplicates.”

As a current workaround you can open the file in excel (or an alternative) and add some random characters to each duplicated Order ID so that it’s not skipped.

Simply edit the trade ID so that each line is unique.

If anyone would like help with this and would feel more comfortable with us fixing the files, please connect with our support team!

Thank you and have a wonderful day!
