Nexo import giving wrong results

Describe the problem:
I have imported my Nexo CSV into Koinly, however the resulting transactions and balances are completely off. Example: I hold 0.5 ETH on Nexo, but Koinly shows a holding of 0.00381486 ETH.

Which exchange/wallet is this regarding?
Nexo

How did you import data into this wallet?
CSV

What have you tried to fix this so far?
I noticed other topics with some issues with the CSV import. Someone else mentioned a third-party tool to fix the CSV but I’d rather wait for Koinly to fix the import (or is it Nexo that has to fix the export?).

Many thanks in advance for your help.
fred

I’m seeing issues as well. I’ve exported all my transactions as a CSV from Nexo, but when I import them into Koinly, it shows an incorrect balance of BTC compared to what I have in Nexo. I’ve tried exporting/importing several times, as well as deleting the Nexo wallet in Koinly and recreating it from scratch, but always with the same results.

Nexo has just announced a change in their CSV export today so this may, or may not, be fixed… its going to mean that Koinly will need to correct their import feature.

ive been using nexo.how webpage to fix my imports

I have same problem - unable to import my file and this is my biggest need this tax season!
Hopefully we get some help soon?

I’ve found that the CSV data does not include trades properly. it shows what asset you’ve acquired as a ‘deposit’ on koinly, but the data doesn’t show the amount of source funds asset used, be it btc or eth or fiat. I emailed support I was just told the csv is ‘informative’ only and that I’d have to manually amend trades. But tha’ts still not possible without the missing data

Hello!

Alex from Koinly here

We made an upgrade to the Nexo CSV import format about a week ago. Could you please try creating a new wallet and upload a new CSV to it, it should work better!

If you’re still having issues after that then please send us an email at hello@koinly.io

Best regards,
Alex

Hi Alex
I am having the same issue, after deleting and re-uploading the CSV file from Nexo.
Nothing is being updated correctly: ETH, BTC, LINK, NEXO, USDT, USDC, etc. All showing higher balances than they should be.
PLEASE FIX if possible.

I’ve been trying gain today, still the same issue, the exchange data is missing the source funds asset and acquired assets show as deposits. Had to go through the mobile app history to manually update. The issue is on nexo’s end, not Koinly.

Agree. Completely wrong balances… Balances show MUCH higher than what they should be. Hard to tell you where it goes wrong

The import problem is still here. Trades are being skipped by the import tool

Hello everyone!

Unfortunately this is a limitation on Nexo’s side, they simply don’t include all the relevant data in the exported file. So any trades made will need to be added manually I’m afraid.

Hopefully they will fix this on their end soon so that we can automatically handle these trades in Koinly.

Best regards,
Alex

Hi @Alexander_Koinly

I’ve also just encountered this problem. Are you able to tell us specifically which information is missing and / or incorrect in the Nexo CSV, so we can contact their support with comprehensive information?

If helpful, I can DM you an example Nexo CSV.

Thanks,

Jamie

Can you give me a sample of the CSV that Koinly is looking for and I can manually make changes in NEXO. I am specifically looking for what Koinly is looking for when you trade say eth for btc. What is the file format?

I also have this problem. After importing data it gives all the wrong token balances.

These companies prioritize their work based on user complains. Add a review to Nexo Reviews | Read Customer Service Reviews of nexo.io complaining about their tool (or lack of API) so they fix that issue ASAP

I’m having the same problem as well! After deleting and re-importing my Nexo csv three times, my BTC,ADA,USDC,DOGE,USDT,SOL, and BNB all have the wrong balances.

I think there are issues on both sides. The Nexo CSV is evidently bad, for example duplicating deposits, however surely these could be stripped out by Koinly as ‘duplicate rows’? Similarly the Nexo CSV shows ‘exchange’ transactions, and yet once imported to Koinly they show as deposits. Maybe I’m missing something here, but should Koinly not recognise these as exchanges/trades given they are labelled as such in the Nexo CSV file?

I have the same issue and complained with Nexo. Here’s their reply:

The CSV file that is currently available to you to download via the Transactions tab contains all of the relevant information (account movements/transfers) associated with your account. Whether the CSV file works with these integrations is not something we are responsible for and we highly advise you to either seek an alternative, or contact a tax specialist in your jurisdiction that can help you with said transactions.

We are doing our best to optimise the CSV file for our US clients and we are currently working on improving this feature.

Do let us know if anything with the CSV itself is inaccurate and we will investigate further.

Alex, why don’t you get in touch with Nexo directly and provide them with the details?

Same issue. Koinly is not working with nexo as advertised.

This is still an issue, I am getting wrong balances for many of my crypto wallets which is thus giving bad information in regards to CG. Can somebody at Koinly please keep us informed what is being done to fix this?
