How to deal with rugs/dead coins?

I have a lot of trades in new live pairs and many rugged/died. For example Maysa
0xA4DdDe6405E6AE8174f0580dABbE6E688Babc987

Koinly can’t even pull up the price I got in at because that info is no longer available.

I can myself get it from say Zerion history.

I cannot sell it and even if I send to a burn wallet Koinly has no cost basis for it. So it wouldn’t show the loss value.

Is there a way to enter cost basis and then show I sold for $0? I think I can enter cost basis if I edit but would I then need to manually enter a trade showing I sold for $0 (ETH since on ETH chain).

**How did you import data into this wallet? - entered eth wallet address

Thanks

Hi @Chad222

The article below helps you deal with rugged tokens:

Spam tokens, worthless NFTs, rug pulls

For the cost basis, you should merge the purchase of the token with the tokens you spent to purchase them. For instance, you spent ETH to purchase this now worthless token. There should be an ETH>XYZ trade in Koinly. This way, the token will have the correct cost basis.

Not really understanding. Where would I go in Koinly to enter this? It might be beest if I could edit the buy with buy price and then enter a sell for same to balance it out. No?

You should find the transaction in your Koinly account on the Transactions page. You can search for the token in question. If you need more instructions or further information, please reach out to our support team. https://koinly.io/contact/
