I bought an NFT in 2021, on ETH. The NFT was not “noticed” as a token so I manually amended the transaction where I sent the ETH, making it a trade and creating a stand-in token for the NFT (I called it, say, NFT69).
I sold the NFT in 2022 but this time it WAS picked up by the software. Because the API picked it up, I can’t amend the trade to change the actual token to my stand-in token name, and properly account for the gain.
I also can’t go back and amend the purchase to add the actual token in the purchase, because I can’t find it in the search bar. I can type in the contract address but there are 11,000 NFTs in the contract and it only shows 24 or so in the drop down menu. Trying to search by NFT number etc. does not work.
At a loss here.
I feel like you NEED to be able to amend the token even in transactions picked up by the API. It seems like when I did taxes last year with Koinly literally no NFTs were “noticed” so I made a stand-in token for every NFT purchase/sale… but this year some small amount of NFTs are being noticed. It’s not usable software if I can’t reconcile this!
