Bybit API not syncing

Syncing with Bybit started off well but now I am constantly getting an error message that says “Access denied, check your API keys” I have done this several times. I have also deleted the wallet and reloaded it but the problem persists. I have also tried setting a new API key but nothing works. How can I solve this problem?**

ByBit has two types of API keys that you can create, one is the standard API key and then they have another one called ‘Tax API’.

There is an issue with the Tax API that started recently, but the team is working on a fix.

In the meantime, please can you try this workaround instead:

  • Create a “System-generated API key”, not a Tax API key
  • Select “Api transactions”
  • Select “Read-only”
  • No IP whitelisting
  • Select all available permissions

Try that key and see if it works without the error. :+1:t2:

Can you please clarify what exactly is the difference between the standard API and the Tax API? I faced the same issue raised by the OP and indeed had to use the standard API instead, but I need to understand the difference and whether it will have any impact on my taxes

Are you seeing the same error as above? This workaround should aloow you to import via API until the Tax API is fixed:
