What's the best way to handle vested ICO tokens

Describe the problem:

I have followed the ICO guide Koinly provided but it does not explain how to handle vested tokens, e.g. those which have a distribution over several months.

I’m presently thinking about dividing the total initial cost of the investment by the number of tokens distributed each period to calculate the “worth” (cost basis) value. I have created a fake wallet to track the distribution each time as well so I can find investments which may not distribute anything for several months.

Does anyone have any tips on this, and what they have done?

Thanks
