Transactions incorrectly paired (two trades, one on Uniswap, one on Quickswap, pairing as an Eth to Polygon token transfer)

I’ve found an issue with the way Koinly automatically pairs some transactions. These are two transactions that arbitrage the price difference of Dark Matter Token (DMT) between Uniswap and Quickswap on March 13th 2021:

They’ve been imported incorrectly as three transactions:

  • a transfer of 15 DMT from the Ethereum wallet to the Polygon wallet
  • a withdrawal of 2.804 WETH from the Polygon wallet
  • a deposit of 2.994 ETH to the Ethereum wallet

See screenshot below:

I thought maybe the fact that the transactions happened in the same minute and/or that they shared an amount (15 DMT) was key to the error, but here is a similar example on March 23rd that’s more surprising since the two transactions don’t share any amounts, and are half an hour apart:

These have been imported as three transactions:

  • a transfer of 14.84 DMT from the Ethereum wallet to the Polygon wallet, with a .737 DMT transfer fee
  • a withdrawal of 2.428 WETH from the Polygon wallet
  • a deposit of 3 WETH to the Ethereum wallet

There’s no way to unpair the incorrectly paired transactions, in order to correctly merge them. Screenshot of the second example below:
