Describe the problem:
New User - have a number of entries that make this statement
Which exchange/wallet is this regarding?
Kucoin
How did you import data into this wallet?
API
What have you tried to fix this so far?
Checking all transactions using a CVC file. When reading the message it appears that Koinly’s program does not believe l have the USDT / USDC to complete a particular trade, example:
The missing purchase history warning tells you that Koinly does not hold historical data for the assets transacted or the API has not provided us with the complete history (due to API limitations) or the files you have imported are not complete, thus assuming a 0 cost basis for them.
This is allowed by the tax authorities but could incur higher taxation, so in order to avoid it, you have to fill in the missing transaction history which is outlined in our Missing purchase history for XYZ guide.
However, I’ll note that it would be optimal that you follow How to ensure your Tax Report is accurate first - once the data import has concluded for all wallets, you can identify and address any inaccuracies tied to various trading activities that could be currently unaccounted for.
If you still need help, do not hesitate to reach out to our support team via the in-app chat to investigate this.
However, in my case the missing purchase history all appear to relate to USDT as the counter COIN, which is strange as the BUY orders could not have been completed if there was insurficent USDT. All “deposits” have been added correctly, so l am unsure how to proceed.
Example: Missing purchase history for 97.71 USDT
Do l simply enter a “manual transaction / deposit” of USDT equal to this sum to negate this item ?
