Incorrect USDC accounting for spam token with USDC ticker

Describe the problem:
Incorrect USDC accounting for spam token with USDC ticker.

Basically I “sent” 5186.644553 USDC (which I haven’t, it’s a dummy USDC token and the tx in question has hundreds of transfers for many wallets using this fake USDC token but it shows as I have being sent it). It seems koinly considered this as real USDC which is not. Perhaps it needs to have a database of the correct stable pairs on each chain instead of relying on the ticker?

  1. No airdrops/forks found
  2. No trades found
  3. API does not allow access to: Uniswap v3 liquidity
  4. 1 transactions are missing purchase history

Hey!

Yeah, this sometimes happens if your address was targeted for Fake Phishing scams.

We import the data exactly as it appears on the blockchain, and since the transaction is associated with your wallet, it gets imported anyhow under a grey USDC token. There is not much we can do about this from our end as far as I know.

Just delete the transaction so it’s removed from your Koinly data. It’s better to soft-delete rather than permanently, as it may reappear after a new sync.
