It always worked fine, but since a few days I can’t merge two transactions. It always shows that the transactions have been merged but they didn’t.
No mather if its a transfer or a trade.

Same issue here! Green notification says that the transactions are merged, but they in fact remain unmerged. Hoping for a solution that avoids manual editing for each pair!
I faced this problem one time. I tried few times but it didn’t work.
I am having the same issue. Perhaps it has something to do with the Send transaction being a manual transaction and the Deposit transaction from the API? In my case, I’m transferring PSWAP from the SORA chain over the ETHBRIDGE to Ethereum mainnet. I had to enter all my SORA transactions manually since there is no way to do it in Koinly via API.
So I was able to resolve by soft deleting the Deposit transaction coming from the API and replacing it with a manual transaction. Then the two transactions were able to merge. Seems kludgy.
I too experienced this - but by changing the tag on one of the txns it was happy to merge.

This is because we’ve made some changes to the merging system. It wasn’t always reliable in the way it merged transactions together, so it has been tightened a bit which means that some transactions can’t be merged anymore if Koinly doesn’t think that it makes sense.
We’re aware that it shows a message saying the merge was successful even when it’s not, and we’re going to adjust that so that it shows the reason why it wasn’t able to merge.
But as a rule of thumb for now, if it’s not merging the transactions then it’s because Koinly can’t find any scenario that makes sense for the merge attempt. So make sure to double check and see that all transactions that you want to merge actually should be merged.
For example if you have a transaction where you mint 2 NFTs but only have 1 “Send” for the mint cost, then you won’t be able to merge them all together into a trade because the 2 NFTs are considered different assets entirely.
There’s a few other scenarios that could cause Koinly to refuse the merge, but if you think that it’s not functioning correctly and you should be allowed to merge some transactions, then please send us an email at hello@koinly.io

I’m having this problem as well but i’m at a loss for what could be tripping it.
Sending MATIC token from ETH wallet to exchange. Send tx is API with a separate API tx for gas, receive is manual, same time, same amount.
*edit, deposit is 4m after withdrawal, but that shouldn’t make a difference
This is because we’ve made some changes to the merging system.
I cannot stress how important it is that we receive the details on these types of system wide of changes.
The more information that you provide to us the easier both of our jobs become, so rather than your customers becoming unnecessarily frustrated, we can take the detailed information and debug issues ourselves.
Without these details we have to guess at what transaction parameters need tweaking. This in turn increases load on the servers due to all the recalculations caused by guessing, 2nd-3rd-4th accounts opened where we can experiment without wrecking our main account, increases the number of support cases, and importantly – increases load on all of our mental health.
With that said, can you detail the new rules? I’d then have a checklist of items to review on each transaction and only modify the one parameter that no longer fits the criteria for auto-merge. Otherwise, I have to guess at what needs changing, recalculate, guess again, recalculate, guess again, and so on and so on.
Super important questions:
- Will these new rules un-merge previously auto-merged transactions? If that is the case, then do I need to go back through all my transactions and look for cases where they are no longer merged?
- Will these new rules un-merge previously manually merged transactions?
Other important questions:
- X-Action - If the transaction IDs are exactly the same, do they auto-merge?
- Time - how close do these transactions need to be so they will auto-merge?
- Date/time - does the send date/time need to before the receive date/time before it will auto-merge?
- Price - does the send price need to be greater than the receive price? If so, by what percentage?
Even better if you’d open source the codebase then compete on customer service rather than project features. I’m not sure that any one company can keep up with the speed that crypto moves and will always lag behind which results in a frustrated customer base and a frustrated employees.

I’m having this issue too, principally in relation to NFTs.
It won’t let me merge the following:
- The free (plus gas) mint of an NFT = two transactions = one cost and one deposit; or
- The minting, buying or selling of multiple NFTs in one transaction (which can also include the above) = multiple transactions = one send and multiple deposit.
This makes it impossible currently to use Koinly for NFTs. When will this be resolved?

The merging mechanism is now totally CATASTROPHIC!
You have completely messed it up. So much so that I deeply regret signing up for a new year.
Now I am completely out of time and have no choice but go through hundreds or even a thousand wrong mergers.
On one hand you’re merging transactions that are even… 4 days apart! What a joke.
On the other hand, you’re NOT merging transactions that have the exact same amounts and times on both ends.
I’m surely done with Koinly.

No, I will not provide any examples - do your damn QA. Quite a laughable product.
As for the list of CRITICAL, BASIC functions missing from the product - it’s mind boggling.
There’s no way there’s any architect or product manager on this platform.
This must be developed by at most a couple of devs.
OK, now that I’ve got that off my chest… I’m off to trying to find a solution.
Having the same issue - trying to merge two transactions (send = manual, deposit = api) I have the same TX numbers and amount values - but they won’t merge. Urgh!

These are always caused by some criteria not being met when trying to merge.
For example if it’s a transfer and you just want to merge a “Send” with a “Deposit,” but it’s not letting you, then make sure to check that the received amount is actually lower or same as the sent amount.
It can happen sometimes that the sending side use fewer decimal places than the receiving side, resulting in the amounts being rounded differently and can cause the received amount to be higher.
It was mentioned this is also happening for trades, in those cases it’s usually because one of the transactions involved have a tag applied (this can also affect transfers btw).
Its happened a few times that I saw some users choose the “Tag deposits as income” when setting up a DeFi wallet, which means that all their trades will have one “Send” transaction and one “Income,” rather than having a “Send” and a “Deposit.”
As long as there’s a tag applied on the “Deposit” transaction, Koinly will refuse to merge it with anything else.
