What does "Sent to pool" do?

I see the option to classify a transaction as “Sent to pool”, but I can’t find any explanation of what this does or why it would be needed. Please can this be documented properly, or if it already is, please could some kind person point me in the right direction? Thanks!

This is used for when you send tokens to a contract for staking etc. It is so your transaction history considers them still in your posession (i.e. not disposed of)

Thanks a lot, that’s really helpful!

Coming from a software development background, I don’t believe that product updates or blog articles count as real documentation (sorry!). So I think Koinly should also cover this properly in their help center. I see it briefly mentioned in How to import data from Uniswap, Balancer and other DeFi platforms | Koinly Help Center but that’s categorised under the “Importing data” section which is hardly an obvious place to cover this feature.
