Hi, previous topic was closed and response was to use capital gains report. This does not provivide dates acquired and also shows transfers out of coinbsse as sells. In addition km required to have the actual 8949 and d form.
If this is not possible can I get a refund as this is different t then what is described
Describe the problem:
Just paid and my tax report transactions are all showing the same date for sells and buys even though they were done different days. Also its including all of my transactions (transfers out of exchange) instead of just what was traded on coinbasd
Can someone help me fix this quickly or issue a refund so I can find another quick solution
Thanks
Which exchange/wallet is this regarding? coinbase
How did you import data into this wallet? api
**What have you tried to fix this so far?**refreshed data
Hi someone reached out but told me they were going home for the day(Hannah) and that they would check tomorrow… That would be to late I have to turn in taxes today and mentioned in email. will someone else be able to resolve within next few hours as it would not help me tomorrow
Thank you for posting about this! We’re with you on the urgency of getting this resolved!
There are times where regenerating the report may fix discrepancies if you haven’t tried this already. From what you’ve mentioned though would you please connect with our support team so we can review the Coinbase wallet to ensure there aren’t any errors creating what is reflecting on the initial report you generated?
Hi,
Thanks for the follow up, understand you all are probably pretty busy yourselves so apologies about the notice with tight deadline.
I have reached out to support yesterday and haven’t heard back so not sure if there will be enough time, so will want to talk through next steps if we can’t resolve by end of day
I’ve tried re-adding the api (new one) and uploading CSV with same results.
Our Capital Gains report does provide the date acquired, not sure why you could not see it.
If you are seeing transfers showing as sales then you have not ensured your data is lined up accurately. Any transfer to an unknown wallet triggers a capital gains calculation.
You have only added one wallet to Koinly, you need to add all your wallets so transfers can be recognized by the software, and not treat it as a taxable transaction. There is no way for it to understand its a wallet you own, if it has not been added.
As such, your report will not be accurate, as you have not included all your data. If you have no time to resolve these issues yourself, then we will be happy to offer you a refund so you can find another solution.
I would also urge you to read the following articles/guides to understand how Koinly works and what you must do to ensure your final report is accurate.
Finally, we can generate an unaggregated version of the IRS report if you have less than 5000 transactions. We can provide this if you want, but you should resolve the issues in the account prior to us generating one.
Hi Ali,
It was certainly quite odd that acquisition date and sold were the same (sold date) as the CVS does distinguish them. I did have to find an alternate method to do my taxes this year so would like to move forward with a refund.
Given the quick and thorough responses I will give this another go next year.
Thanks again
