TaxAct Export/download CSV flaw

Describe the problem:
Dear Koinly, you all really ought to indicate that TaxAct only accepts up to 2,000 transactions on the notepad CSV file we can buy and download from here, and also include separate CSV file downloads for multiple uploads if we exceed TaxAct’s maximum transaction count. I have almost 4,000 transactions total, and now need to go through the trouble of modifying the CSV file I purchased and downloaded here to make a custom secondary CSV file with the transactions that I could not upload to TaxAct the first round.

After dealing with the nightmare of figuring all my crpyto stuff here on this website, the last thing I want to do is be held up from actually finishing this on the actual tax website. =(

Edit: In fact, TaxAct only accepts up to 2,000 transactions, even with multiple CSV files - GREAT! What do I do then? I guess I have to go with TurboTax then?

Thank you.

Hi @Barttle_Doo,

Thank you for your awesome patience with us for shining a light on this!

That’s quite surprising that TaxAct would have a threshold on transactions to import. We don’t want to support one filing service over another - and just have a neutral position. Though based on the criteria of what you have in your CSV, Turbo Tax would be a good option with not having those same transaction limits.

I just verified with Turbo Tax’s customer support team if there were any limitations on transactions, and their agent said there is no limit. I did ask for a reference to share here for other users to check out, and their message was that they do not yet have this information clearly posted in in their help articles or resources.

You should be able to import the single file and be good to go. :raised_hands:

Thank you very much for sharing this info with the community, BD.

Have a wonderful day!
