Describe the problem:
Some of your calculated balances do not match the balances reported by the API. The differences are listed below.
| Asset |
Difference |
| ETH |
-3.08978 |
| ETH2 |
3.08978 |
Which exchange/wallet is this regarding?
Wallet: Kraken (Kraken)
Transactions: 589
Imported with: API
- No airdrops/forks found
- 1 transactions are missing purchase history
How did you import data into this wallet?
via API
What have you tried to fix this so far?
no but I think Koinly is not recognizing the ETH->ETH2 conversion that recently happened within the Ethereum network
Also, your website says:
You are missing deposits/trades for some coins so Koinly has assumed you got them at zero cost. This can result in higher taxes if the amounts are large. You can review your missing cost history transactions to figure out what the problem is. It usually has to do with trades on delisted markets or lack of support for historical data by the exchange API. An alternative may be to delete all existing trades and import them using a CSV file instead.
Missing ... ETH on 2023-07-03 22:02:54 UTC
This was an ETH sell transaction, and the amount was coming from ETH2.S (Kraken auto-converted to ETH for United States users) in April 2023.
Hi @NincsIlyen,
Welcome to the Discuss community and for bringing this to our attention!
Kraken was caught off-guard by authorities regarding staking and is not providing enough data for us to reconcile these transactions properly.
If you believe that ETH>ETH2 and vice versa is a 1:1 asset migration, please apply the ‘swap’ label on the transactions here:
https://help.koinly.io/en/articles/3663453-what-are-labels
At the moment ETH and ETH2 are treated as separate tokens and you realize gains.
