How may I import my metamask wallet with just the transactions from 2021? It seems to want to deposit even the transactions from 2022 and I have to manually delete all those.

Not sure why you would want to import just the Metamask transactions from 2021 but here are a couple of suggestions for dealing with this.
Instead of using API to import your wallet transactions, you can import using a CSV file from your wallet that covers only 2021 transactions by selecting the relevant dates you want the CSV file to cover. This may be easier than manually deleting a lot of 2022 transactions imported via API.
If your goal is to produce a tax report that only addresses 2021 transactions you can of course do this by selecting the 2021 tax year under the Tax Reports section in Koinly.

You should import all of your transactions in Koinly via API so that you can tag or label transactions and ensure accuracy in real time. This is by far the easiest way to import transactions and keep up to date. This will not affect your ability to do your taxes for 2021 because your tax reports will only reflect 2021 transactions if you select the 2021 tax year on the Tax Reports page. It shouldn’t increase your Koinly plan cost until you download tax reports for the 2022 tax year.
