i Koinly Support,
I’m trying to exclude a manual wallet I created (named “Crypto Casinos” ) from my 2025 capital gains / Form 8949 reporting, because it’s a summary wallet and is duplicating activity already recorded in my real wallets.
My setup
- Real wallets/exchanges: Coinbase + multiple Exodus wallets.
- I used crypto casinos that don’t provide statements, so I created a manual “Crypto Casinos” wallet in Koinly to summarize gambling.
- In that manual wallet I entered monthly aggregated lines:
- gross deposits to casinos (sent from Exodus to casino addresses)
- gross withdrawals from casinos (received back to Exodus)
- a monthly net P/L entry
- The manual wallet was built using totals aggregated from transactions that already exist in Coinbase/Exodus, so it’s a duplicate representation for “gambling summary” only.
Problem
Even after archiving the manual wallet, my 2025 Capital Gains report still shows 58 disposals with Wallet Name = Crypto Casinos , meaning those manual entries are still being included in 8949 calculations.
In my wallet menu, I only see options like: Rename, Archive, Change type . I do not see a clear “Exclude wallet from tax reports” toggle.
Questions
- What is the correct way to exclude a manual wallet (or its transactions) from tax calculations so it does not appear in Capital Gains / 8949?
- Does Archive normally exclude a wallet from tax, or does it only hide it?
- Is there a specific wallet type I should change it to so manual summary entries are ignored for capital gains?
- If the only solution is to exclude transactions, what’s the recommended method: ignore , mark as spam , or delete those manual entries so they won’t appear in 8949?
Thanks — I want the real Coinbase/Exodus data to drive 8949, and keep the manual wallet only as a separate gambling summary record.
