Editing transcation removes cost basis

Describe the problem:
An eth transfer from waves exchange to an eth address is showing as two separate transactions/transfers so when I edit one of the transfers to say the eth was sent to my eth address it then removes the cost basis. Why does this happen?

Which exchange/wallet is this regarding?
waves exchange and eth address

How did you import data into this wallet?
csv file and eth address

Hi @leedle

Can you post screenshot examples of the transactions please?

I am not 100% sure what you mean :thinking:

@leedle

Thanks!

Okay so the top line - where is that 14 ETH being sent to? Is it sent to Waves 1 Transfers?

No it is being sent to the A8F1 address. So those need to be merged. Anyway I think I figured it out. I guess transfers are not meant to show the cost basis correct?

@leedle
Correct, transfers do not show a cost-basis, however that doesn’t make sense to me, in the first line you are seen to be Sending 14.3 ETH from Waves 1 Transactions to an unknown address and realising gains.

In the second line, you sent 14.3 ETH from Waves 1 Transfers to A8F1.

So are you saying that 14.3 ETH here is being sent to Waves 1 Transfer?

If so, click Edit on the “Send” Eth transaction, and at the top, change the drop-down to “Transfer” and select the corresponding wallet.
