OceanEx have very poor support when it come to retrieving CSV history, so API might be a solution, but I can’t find the way to make it work.
If anyone here used OceanEx too, how did you do ? Did you find a way to setup their API and make it work in Koinly ?
Hi, if you contact oceanex support you should be able to get your deposits/withdrawa/strades/airdrops in a csv file that can be imported to Koinly
Hello, this is what I did.
They sent me a csv file full of mistakes and inconsistencies, and clearly not standardized enough for Koinly to be able to import it : i suppose they made it manually, I don’t understand why.
(that’s the reason why API would be so much preferable : doesn’t seem OceanEx is able to produce valid CSV history exports, as odd as it may seem)
Would it be helpful if I sent the file to Koinly support so you can have a look ? Should I do it here ?

Just got an answer on a request to OceanEx:
“Currently, we do not support use API to pull up the trade history. However, we can provide the csv file to you”
Well, that might have been nice to know, so I guess the API thing is just meant for trading …
I’ve been trying to get my transaction data from OceanEx and believe I’ve managed to get a public/private keyset generated as they don’t provide that service as it seems most other exchanges do. So far still without breakthrough (fold out the full thread):

I did too manage to get api keys, but I get an error message on Koinly when trying to sync, saying something about needing access to beta, i don’t know what to do about that.
Same problem here. If I can do anything about it, it might be an issue of adding whatever ip-adress Koinly uses to access OceanEx from and whitelist it on OceanEx?
Yes there is no way you can get more than 3 month doing it yourself.
I had to contact support to get full history, only with tons of date errors, missing deposits, missing airdrops (OCE) and VTHO distributions. This is subpar.
I suspect API wouldn’t be much better as the problem seems to be on OceanEx being an half assed exchange.
I’ll have to work on the CSV file or add every missing tx manually, either way it will be a pain in the ass.
But how can you add any missing Tx manually if you can only search three months back?
I have like 1k Tx there I suspect … 
They sent me a CSV file for my whole history.
At first it was missing lots of things (deposits, OCE & VTHO airdrops, missing trades, misdated trades). I noticed because when i imported the CSV file in Koinly it was full of errors.
I told the OceanEx support, explaining the problem, and they sent me CSV files, several times until I got the last one that, I suppose, is, at last, complete. It’s just manually done and can’t be imported right away in Koinly. But I think they provided me with every line. I’ll just have to format the CSV and check there is no longer any mistake / missing stuff.
A complete mess. If you’ve traded a lot on OceanEx, step 1 for you is to ask OceanEx support to provide you a CSV for your whole account history (from creation to now) with
If you don’t ask specifically, it won’t occur them to give that to you. This is really amateurish but this is the best you’ll get I suspect.
Step 2 will be to somehow import all that in Koinly and pray that it all makes sense.
Otherwise you’ll have to put your detective hat on and try to untangle everything until Koinly can sort it out.
I must add that, despite the many struggles, support is polite, nice and reactive, they are actually trying to help, and delivering, even though it’s not perfect. Can’t say that about every support so that’s that.

But how do you check it manually, when you can only search for the past three months yourself? 
Forget about getting any useful info from the 3 month history.
The idea is to make sure the complete history they sent you makes sense in Koinly ( = doesn’t add any more confusion or wrong data / costs).
=> any missing purchase history error signaled by Koinly ? Something is wrong, you need to find what’s missing or mixed up : maybe a missing airdrop, or dates are mixed up ?
=> withdrawals from OceanEx must coincide with deposits on any other exchange / wallet you sent funds to
etc.
Basically it’s crossing t’s and dotting i’s, making sure everything adds up and is accounted for in your OceanEx wallet once you’ve imported the complete history. If there are still errors or inconsistencies, you have to let the support know and make sure they sent you EVERYTHING. For me, it took several times for them to send me a complete, error free CSV file.
In my case, several airdrops were missing, for VTHO, OCE and VET, so it resulted in “missing purchase history” errors in Koinly. Once they sent me history for missing airdrops, everything made sense again.
You’ll know you’ve made it right if the OceanEx balance calculated on Koinly is the same as the one you can see on OceanEx : means everything was accounted for, without any mistake in between.
