Deposits incorrectly tagged as Reward

I notice that some deposts that are sync’d for one of my wallets are automatically tagged as Reward when I don’t want them to be. If I remove the tag from these transactions, Koinly automatically re-tags them as Reward a few seconds later. I’m not sure what determines which transactions are tagged in this way, I’m guessing it might be related to the source address?

I’ve only noticed this issue in one of my wallets so far (auto-synced from the Binance Smart Chain).

Has anyone else noticed this? Any solutions?

Hi @Stephen,

Thank you for posting again, and inquiring about this.

I’m thinking this may be due to a setting when you setup the API.

When setting up your Binance Smart chain wallet, you may have decided to use the option “tag all deposits as: rewards”:

This may be why all the deposits are tagged as rewards.

As we mention in the information popup, this option should be left empty unless you know that this wallet only ever receives a specific type of transaction:

You’ll need to delete this wallet and set it up again, this time leaving this option empty, and you’ll be good to go. :raised_hands:

Please contact our support team if you’re continuing to see the rewards aren’t changing.

Have an awesome day!

Thanks Michael, but that’s not the issue. In the API settings the “Tag deposits as” field is not set to anything. Only some of the deposits are tagged as Reward. And when I manually remove the tag, Koinly automatically adds it back immediately after.

Hi @Stephen,

Pardon my misunderstanding on this, man. Try totally deleting the transaction and then manually entering the reward in.

If this doesn’t work, please do contact our support team so we can have a closer look into the account. :raised_hands:
