Declaring Capital Gains losses for 2019

Hello all.

I’ve just used Koinly to calculate my crypto profit and losses. For 2019 - 2020 I made a loss which I’d like to submit to HMRC to offset against future gains.

I’ve generated a report and filled in the government form SA108. Apparently this needs to be added to my tax self-assessment for that year. (I’m self-employed)

I’ve tried and searched but I cannot find how to go back and alter / add to that year’s assessment declaration.

Is it not possible? And if not, do I use the Digital Disclosure Service? Have any of you done this or know how it’s done?

Why do they make everything so hard??!

Hi Cass
Just went through similar scenario, I phoned them up and asked, since I had already made a disclosure on a previous year I was advised to write in with details of the losses for 18/19 19/20 with a letter explaining what and where they came from so I wrote a letter, printed a tax report for both years and sent that lot in.
Haven`t heard anything yet, but its only been 2 weeks.
Regards
