Describe the problem:
Hello - new to Koinly and trying to reconcile crypto activity for taxes and having some difficulty. Have a billion questions. But for the purposes of this post going to focus on the most important thing:
-
There are instances where I did a BNB/BSC swap, and for some reason Koinly was unable to determine that I did that. Instead, it showed BNB being “sent” to the unknown, and charge me a capital gain. I manually entered BSC swap and it seemed to solve that problem.
-
What gets weird is that, on the line immediately below, the BNB shows up again. This time Koinly recognized it as a transfer automatically. But it says “missing purchase history”.
It seems like there’s 2 very similar transactions in the blockchain. They’re both swaps, but only the second transaction shows the 12 BNB. Which is why Koinly detected a transfer. I have no idea what’s happening with the first one.
I don’t know what to do with these almost-duplicative lines. And I don’t know if it’s a PROBLEM that the second line doesn’t have a “purchase history”. I don’t know if that’s costing me more taxes. If there’s no purchase history, is it treating the ENTIRE 12 BNB as a capital gain whenever I sell it?
PLEASE HELP. So much to clarify here. Overall can’t believe how tedious this process is. Thanks to Koinly for creating this software because otherwise this would be almost impossible.
Which exchange/wallet is this regarding?
Binance.US, Trustwallet BNB, Trustwallet BSC
How did you import data into this wallet?
API for all 3. And then for Binance.US I also manually uploaded fiat deposits via CSV
What have you tried to fix this so far?
