Solana cost basis after unstaking

So this was mentioned before but I want to bring it up again as Staking support for Solana has been many many times asked for and a token that is in the top 5 in the world should certainly have this support if you guys want to be accurate for us and charge the prices you do. Please seriously look at adding this. I doubt very much it’s that hard as there are scripts that do it out there already. (See Stake.tax and btw for anyone looking to get accurate CSV file that takes into account ALL your stakes I recommend it as a workaround til Koinly finally gets going for SOL, the 4th largest token on earth I beleive oops…did I say it again? Sorry;-) ).

SO, I have a few stakes where the rewards add up to a measley .15 SOL…so I thought I’d test the pool and unpool feature you have…when I add to pool and remove from pool for them my cost basis goes up by $10…uh, well, that’s just not possible lol …again, scripts like stake.tax does a complete and thorough job of taking into the entirety of your SOL transactions including every single stake and the cost basis is definately not accurate on Koinly. I have also done manual math to test and again the cost basis going up $10 is really, really wrong, of course.

Also, even if I just add one staking to a completely API downloaded address (touching nothing else) and from an account with ONLY solana blockchain address synced, it shows my unrealized gains to be $100 more than it should be…that’s in addition - and probably because - of the staking issue.

SO I am going to simply add a manual transaction for the total of all rewards before tax time as a workaround because it will turn out much much more accurate that way and makes a bunch more sense right now. I just really wish you guys would listen to all the feedback on this and the clear desire from your customers to have this support.

Anyway, just some mildly passive aggressive feedback, sorry for that but jeepers creepers you guys this is a no brainer…you’re kinda putting us in a position that we’re sending incorrect data for purposes of taxes…

Lastly, the API function is very very often not working. I don’t need anyone to have a look since I have already done this in a hundred different ways and backtested it against other methods etc…without rewards staking support, its all inaccurate.

Again, for anyone who needs a workaround, check out stake.tax …the results for me were completely accurate.

Hi Tony. :wave:t2:

Thank you for your detailed feedback and for bringing up the issues with Solana staking support again. We appreciate your patience and understand the importance of accurate staking integration for such a significant token.

We’re actively working on improving our Solana API integration and aim to include comprehensive staking support in the near future. Our team is aware of the demand and is putting in the effort to ensure we meet your expectations. While we understand there are existing solutions like Stake.tax, we are committed to providing a seamless experience within Koinly.

Your workaround of adding manual transactions for rewards before tax time is a practical temporary solution, but rest assured we are striving to provide a more accurate and automated process.

Thanks again for your feedback, we really do appreciate it and we are working hard to make sure our SOL integration is the best there is. :pray:t2:

Thanks for your message, that is really encouraging.
