Incorrect Balance because Self Destruct

Over the years, I’ve deposited a number of coins, tokens, NFTs and smart contracts in my cold wallet, mostly fraudulent tokens.

At first, Koinly only complained that these tokens didn’t have a market price, which is true.
Removing these tokens from Koinly could have solved the problem, but then it wouldn’t be a proper representation of the transactions recorded on the blockchain.

FEATURE REQUEST #1: I think we need a new Tag to mark these tokens as scams or worthless.

Now there’s a new problem… Some of these tokens had a built-in self-destruct function and started disappearing after a year or two. (Self-destruct is a smart contract function supported by some blockchains like BSC and ETH).

Following the self-destruct, Koinly now reports a difference between the calculated balance (1) and the reported balance (0).

FEATURE REQUEST #2: Knowing that all this is correctly recorded on the blockchain (the initial drop and the self-destruction), I think Koinly should succeed in self-correcting the difference without.

Again we shouldn’t have to delete these tokens manually.

Claude

Hi @claudemlandry,

Thanks for your detailed explanation.

Please create these requests on our Feedback Portal where they get upvoted by other users and implemented by our devs.

I can see that there is already a feature request for a “scam tag” available that you can upvote:
