I was airdropped 150,000 MNEB to my Metamask wallet and after a quick Google, I have found that this is a scam token. Koinly is calculating this as a $6000 AUD airdrop and so my tax will be very wrong.
The data was automatically synced. Does Koinly have a solution to deal with these scam airdrops? I have about 7 other scam coins I would like to get rid of, too.
You could manually edit the value to zero
The transaction already had a $0.00 value when it was originally airdropped. The current value of the scam coin is being set by Koinly at $0.04 (out of my control I believe) which is why it’s telling me it’s worth $6000 AUD at present.
Koinly staff: we really need a unique tag for scam airdrops so it tells Koinly not to include it in calculations.
I agree I have so many scam coin airdrops that are worthless. This one in particular is annoying because we cant do anything with the coins and it is showing them as being worth a decent amount of money.
I think the only good solution is to delete the transaction from the wallet but I dont know if that is correct.
I agree that we need some tag for scams tokens landed in our wallets.

Koinly need to have a tag named “scam” so we can just click that and Koinly calculation will do the rest
Definitely need a Scam tag please asap. The issue with deleting the transaction is that if the ATO ever get clever at auditing and find these tokens in our wallet (and worse, value them the way koinly does) is that the ATO will assume they have worth. I have one in my wallet showing it is worth over 100Million bucks - which is clearly not true (trust me I checked).

This one is a bit tricky since those scam tokens on a purely technical level is the exact same as any legit tokens, but a “scam” tag to handle them as non-received could be a good idea!
For now the most common solution people go for is to just delete the airdrop so it looks like it was never received.
Since the majority of tax agencies only consider the disposal of assets to be capital gains tax events it should be no issues to delete the “acquisition” of these scam tokens since you will not interact with them anyway.
Hopefully we can get a system in place that detects these automatically!

The difficulty with deleting the airdrop transaction (and any other existing solution) is that the totals calculated by Koinly will then be different from those reported by whatever api is being used. The “scam” tag is by far the best method as it then shows that you have accounted for those transactions but can automatically handle the totals issue as well as tax calculations. Please add this as an option!!!
Other than this Koinly appears to be the perfect solution for keeping records and for tax calculations.
What I did at least is to do a soft-delete so I can re-add it in the future under a potential Scam tag.
I can’t edit the number, as its being pulled from an API.
Thus we need a scam filter/tag ASAP please
