ERC20 transactions - what category for UK tax?

Working on my UK tax report. What category is a transaction where I take ETH from my wallet and buy a token on Uniswap or a similar DEX? Is it buy, trade or swap?

Also, what is the taxable event here, is it just the gain or loss when disposing of ETH?

It’s a trade.

Yeah, you’re right about the taxable event, just remember that that also includes the ETH you paid as gas for the trade.
