Binance "Convert" history

https://www.binance.com/en/my/orders/convert/history

Binance have a “convert” option to trade 1 currency for another without using the exchange. These trades aren’t showing via the API. Could these be added as the feature is useful for trading stable coin pairs quickly.

For now I’ll have to manually add the trades as it’s showing missing trades on my transaction history.

I believe the issue is that Binance don’t provide that information over the API, so there is no way for Koinly to see the trades. For my Binance transactions I do a full statement generate on Binance a couple of times a month and manually reconcile the whole thing as there are all sorts of problems syncing with Binance.

I joined Koinly today and realised quite a few functions are missing. From this thread I understand the conversion is not taken into account as well. Can you please tell me how would calculate conversion from one crypto to another?

Yes there are issues with syncing to exchanges, although in most cases this is down to the exchange and not Koinly. E.g. Binance’s Convert function doesn’t sync to Koinly because Binance doesn’t publish it on the API.

However Koinly handles conversion just fine. For a manual convert transaction you use “Add Transaction > Trade”.

For syncs to the blockchain e.g. ERC20 tokens, and most centralised exchanges, they usually work correctly. Sometimes for reasons I haven’t fully worked out, conversion transactions sync as a Sell into fiat followed by a Buy. In these cases, if you want you can select both transactions and an option to merge them appears at the bottom of the screen.

A lot of the confusion on these boards comes from overloading of terms “trade”, “exchange”, “swap” etc between Koinly and other sources. Koinly’s help does a good job of explaining what they mean by all these terms.
