Airdrop of MEW not treated as income?

I was airdropped MEW from holding BONK on Solflare.
So the cost to me was zero.

On Koinly the average cost is showing as £0.001159

In “Settings”, “Treat airdrops as income”, if I tick it I get a yellow waring sign, I understand it is correct for the UK to untick it in settings.
I am happy to file it either was as long as it is correct for HMRC.

Should I leave it unticked?

Hi @lykoin

“Treat airdrops as income” is disabled for UK users by default. This means if a deposit is tagged as “airdrop”, it will have a 0 cost basis and a profit will be realized at the time of disposing of the token. Make sure the transaction is tagged.

Thank-you, I have tagged it as Airdrop and the cost basis is 0.
