Warning caused by token changing name

Describe the problem:

I ran a sync on my Argent wallet where I have some aETH. After running the sync I get a warning that “my balances does not match what I actually have on the wallet”. The popup reports the following problem:

Asset Difference
AETH xxxxxxxxx
AETHC -xxxxxxxxx

I replaced all numbers with x for privacy reasons so to clarify this it says I have X to much of AETH and -X to little of AETHC. This is because AETH has been renamed AETHC by Ankr. It is still the same token.

I know that they decided to change the name of the token so I knew what was going on here but I do not know how to fix it. The API sync imports really nice data with links to transactions and everything so I would prefer not to lose that by going manual.

Which exchange/wallet is this regarding?

Argent

How did you import data into this wallet?

Auto-sync

What have you tried to fix this so far?

I tried to “Resync wallet from beginning” hoping the transaction where I got my AETH would now name them as AETHC but that did not work. The only solution that might work is to go manual but since this does not affect my taxes for 2021 I decided to not do that for now and report my problem here instead so maybe you can fix it for next year.

Thanks for a great service!
