I imported my 2020 tax information using the “Download Report” option of “Turbotax CD/DVD”. There were 91 transactions imported into Turbotax but on every transaction it is missing the “Sale category”. Turbotax is saying that is must be filled in for all 91 transactions.
The option for the Sale category are:
Box A - Short term covered
Box B - Short term noncovered
Box C - Short term not reported
Box D - Long term covered
Box E - Long term noncovered
Box F - Long term not reported
Box X - Unknown holding period
When I download the “Capital Gains Report” then all transactions are tagged with either a “Short Term” or Long term" Holding period. So the “Turbotax CD/DVD” export is not exporting the Sales Category. I even opened the .TXF file with a text editor and they are not in there.
