Problems with random Cardano transactions appearing all the time

Describe the problem:
I keep having to manually delete random deposits and withdrawals that just haven’t happened. When I open the referenced TX hash, the transaction clearly is for something else in the UTXO.

Example:

In wallet: deposit for 873.288149 ADA
Transaction was clearly for a withdraw of 100o iUSD:
cardanoscan.io/transaction/fa0a66c7d6e2bfeb841e069c12fa0609d37cb9d0a44e38452dab9602b79bb6f8

There was no deposit as part of this transaction. this happens on most cardano transactions; either they are missed altogether, or random inputs/ outputs are selected as the transacted amounts.

Another really, really bad example of poor reporting:

Reported send of 8,188.71… ADA!!!
Transaction hash: cardanoscan.io/transaction/12316cc8110dedb5501db828650a319d5691fa0db249a1f11561e906e93e64c0

Actual spend detailed in the hash was: -224.2021 ADA in exchange for Tokens Received ACRONYMLLAMA047

on top of this, Koinly reports that I then receive: 7,964.51… ADA

Really this is just the above token being delivered with a spend of -1.33179ADA

How am I meant to work with this?

It is so far off being accurate that I am left deleting everything and running full syncs in hope of corrections.

Hi, I might have a solution that could help you better use Koinly for your Cardano accounts.

I’m Pascal, co-owner of Berry stake pool on Cardano.

I recently released Adastry.io, a community project, which aim to bridge the current gap between Cardano and Koinly among other things. I’m sure Koinly team is working hard to bring support to Cardano, but it might take some times before it get perfec. Building a “one fits all” solution isn’t easy task.

Adastry isn’t perfect either, it is a work in progress, but it might help you to import your data in Koinly.

Disclaimer: It is not a tax reporting tool, it does not a replace Koinly in any way.

It will help you to track registered stake account, rewards spot prices and format transactions in a way that can work with Koinly. You’ll be able to export all your different wallet as a single wallet, which help to later “merge” transaction to yourself on Koinly. (I’m thinking about adding the auto-merge option in the upcoming weeks)

Hi Pascal,

I was have issues with Koinly’s API for one of my wallets and had to do a manual CSV upload. Your Adastry tool is really great. Unlike Eternl’s csv it contains all the NFT transactions. The only issue is that it uses placeholders, so I have to manually go in on each Koinly transaction and change the place holder NFT to the name of the actual nft. Would it be possible to update your CSV so that it doesn’t use the placeholder nfts? That would be really useful.

Unfortunately, its not possible to import NFTs via CSV at this moment without using placeholders. We hope to improve this in the future, but I have no timeline I can share with you right now.
