Please clarify the Kraken API instructions

In the “Setup Kraken API” dialog, I see this:

  • Margin trades If you have an old account with lots of margin trades, you should disable the historical-data option on API and import your ledgers.csv file

What does “old account” mean?

What if an account is “old”, but only performed margin trading recently?

Can you please clarify this?

A related improvement to the Kraken import docs: the “How to import your Kraken tax report CSV file to Koinly” heading says “4. Select your date range.” It should be clarified that all years need to be imported, as the “Import from file” instructions say; it’s not some arbitrary date range.

Hi @Peter

Thank you for this stellar feedback, man. I’ve sent everything you’ve mentioned to our content department to review and impart on the Kraken integrations page (this may take a few days to implement). Fantastic job on this. Please let me know if anything else sticks out, so we can better evolve our resources. Cheers, man.

Have an awesome day!

Happy to help, @Michael_Koinly. Something else that stuck out was the import from Coinbase. Is there anything extra in the JSON that Coinbase manually sends in the Privacy export, that’s not found in the Reports → Transaction History export?

Thank you for linking to this, Peter :raised_hands: I’ll post there now.
