Missing Purchase History = Closing Balance Discrepancy

I only traded on 1 exchange MEXC.

All timestamps, deposits/withdrawals/drops are accounted for and correct.

All Koinly crypto closing balances match EXCEPT for MEXC ~15.076 USDT deficit, which happens to equal my missing USDT purchase history amount.

Based off this what is the cause for the error?

Could it be the trade history shows fees deducted which in reality were not?

KOINLY MEXC BALANCE MISSING PURCHASE HISTORY

Hey @jg511

In short, there is data missing from your import - this usually happens through no fault of your own, but mostly limitations from the provider.

Unfortunately, we cant troubleshoot this effectively via the forums, so please send an e-mail to support@koinly.io, so that we can take a look into the account and offer guidance.

Interestingly, when I subtract the koinly 2023 capital gains figure from my koinly 2023 closing I get my my previous koinly 2022 year end balance (since all gains were reinvested).

If purchase history is indeed missing the those figures should not balance if I’m not mistaken? This has me thinking that perhaps could it be an error on koinly’s importing end?

That could very well be the case, have you emailed the support team so they can investigate this?
