Kraken wallet doesnt let me change API keys - only redirects me to Kraken and then closes back to Koinly

Describe the problem: Somehow my API key for Kraken istn working anymore. I also cant change it. When I click on “Set up Auto-Sync” it justs wants to connect me with Kraken. But somehow that doesnt work and I am redirected back to Koinly. There is no option to manualy input the API key.

Which exchange/wallet is this regarding? Kraken

How did you import data into this wallet? So far it was working with the API key, but no longer

What have you tried to fix this so far? I added a fresh wallet and tried that way, but dient work either, same issue.

Possible thing that could be causing the issue: My Email I use at Kraken is different from the one I am using with Koinly. But there is no way to change that.

Okay, issue solved. There are 2 types of Kraken wallets, one with OAuth and one with API access. You need to change it to API access and then you can enter the new API keys.

Hi @Dodenberg

I am glad to hear that you were able to resolve the issue. As you correctly pointed out, there are two distinct wallets for OAuth and API:

My kraken wallet stopped syncing last month. I deleted the api keys and connected the koinly account directly from the kraken website. It worked, then now today it stopped working, and I have to file taxes before the end of the week!!
I tried to disconnect deleting the api keys, and to make new api keys connection. Doesn’t work. I tried to make new direct connection from Kraken, and it soesn’t work.
I’m watching all the koinly support videos and reading the previous koinly replies but doesn’t work.
It seems incredible that you have such “support centre”, being impossible to get a personal answer to your bugs!!!

Hi @elena3

We have two separate wallets for Kraken connection: one via OAuth and another via API keys. If you are using API keys, please ensure you select the correct importer labeled “Kraken (API keys) wallet.”

Please follow the instructions provided in the guide below:
