IOTA says invalid address?

Describe the problem:

Trying to import IOTA but it tells me it’s an invalid address though it shows up just fine here: IOTA Tangle Explorer

Which exchange/wallet is this regarding?

IOTA

How did you import data into this wallet?

Just provided the public address.

What have you tried to fix this so far?

Not sure I can fix it if it thinks it’s an invalid address.

I had the same problem for an ETH wallet in Coinomi. It was saying the public key was an invalid address. I copied the ‘From’ address in Etherscan (from one of my transactions) and pasted into Koinly. The wallet synced fine. Maybe that’ll work for IOTA?

This looks like an old address, the node we are using to sync IOTA addresses does not go that far back so we cant find it. You will need to export a csv with your data or just enter those transactions manually into Koinly.

I am having the same problem. Could you please switch to a permanode to sync transactions? This way the whole history can be imported. Because at the moment Koinly is useless when it comes to tracing my IOTA transactions since they’re all from 2017-2018. A way to combine multiple addresses in the one wallet would be great too. Because if you have sent a lot transactions through IOTA then every single address has to be added in as a new wallet and that’s a mess.

https://explorer.iota.org is better for searching transactions than https://thetangle.org so I suggest using that instead because it shows the full history

I found the same here, that https://explorer.iota.org is better for exploring IOTA addresses using the HASH or addresses. And in my case, the addresses are not old. They are as recent as last year (2020)!

@koinly How would I go about exporting a csv with my transaction data for IOTA? It’s a huge pain to try and enter it all manually
