How to make custom loss amount for a token?

Describe the problem:
How do we make a custom loss amount on a token? I invested almost $1,100 for 80 Gems in a project called Gem Nodes last year, and the project flopped, but received a “refund” for about $150 back. How do I mark the original investment into the website as a loss of around $1,000?

Hey @Barttle_Doo

I can show you how to do this in Koinly, but doing so is at your own risk. I.e. make sure it’s allowed by your tax authority!

  1. Locate the withdrawal transaction of the $1,100 investment.
  2. Click Edit, and change the worth to 0

This will then be shown as you sending $1,100 and getting 0 in return, therefore calculating a total loss. If you just want to $1000 loss, then instead of 0, put in 100.
