Describe the problem:
Etherdelta is a platform where you can trade/exchange ERC20 tokens for eachother all within Eth contracts. So there is no need for a third party or exchange. Unfortunately Koinly sees my transfers into the etherdelta contract as disposals. How can I convert these into trades? There’s 100s of them
Which exchange/wallet is this regarding?
Etherdelta
How did you import data into this wallet?
Just by adding my Eth wallet addresses to Koinly
What have you tried to fix this so far?
I don’t know where to start
Unfortunately, Koinly has no way of automatically importing trades in Etherdelta. It has to be done manually.
I created a csv file in which I painstakingly recreated all my trades and transfers. I obtained much of the data by looking at the trade and funding history of each coin I traded in on Etherdelta.
I imported the file into a new wallet I called Etherdelta.
Good luck. You will need it.
Note that this is not the fault of Koinly but rather of the way Etherdelta is set up.
That sounds like a nightmare! Where did you pull the “trade and funding history of each coin” from? Etherscan?
And how did you match that data up to the transactions that Koinly already imported? Eg I have a bunch of deposits and withdrawals to/from the Etherdelta contract 0x8d12a197cb00d4747a1fe03395095ce2a5cc6819
I think I’m starting to understand but still a bit lost. Appreciate your help!
Hi,
In Etherdelta there is a section called Your Transactions. There are 3 tabs in this section Trades, Orders and Funds.
These should contain the information you need. There may be a limit on how much history it retains but I don’t know what that limit is.
I treated Etherdelta as a separate wallet so you need to create the other side of the transfer with the same date and time as the already imported transactions and Koinly will match them
Yes, it is a nightmare and took me hours.
Good luck!!
That makes sense, thanks heaps! Sadly I tried to access Etherdelta but it doesn’t seem to work anymore. Just an endless loading loop and wont show up any trades after connecting with Metamask. Apparently the project was abandoned and forked to ForkDelta. How long ago did you download your transactions from it?
I’ve found https://deltabalances.github.io/ which supposedly can find all my trades, but that’s giving me errors as well. So close to solving this but if I can’t get the trade data I might be screwed lol
Hi Bec,
Well I mostly used ForkDelta actually. I thought you could see the history from EtherDelta on ForkDelta as well since they use the same order book but I may be mistaken.
