Any items with a Cost or Value greater than 999.99 include a ‘,’ - example 12,345.67

This is interpreted by Excel as text, rather than a numeric value, which requires a manual fix to convert back to a numeric value.

The Quantity value does not have this problem.

Not a fix, but Data \> Text to Columns should take care of that in a couple of clicks. You could record a macro if you need to do it often.
