Hi there,
If a token changes ticker or moves from one block-chain to another, and I record this as a ‘swap’ in Koinly, will it reset the timer of the date acquired for what is considered a short or long term hold?
In my country (Australia) we receive a 50% discount on capital gains for coins held for more than 1 year prior to disposal. A coin that changes symbol or moves from one block-chain to another does not count as an exchange or trade and does not reset that 1 year timer from the original date acquired - so I need to confirm that Koinly software reflects this? Looking at the software - it seems like the double entry ledger system records the date acquired of the coin on the new ticker/block-chain as the date the swap was made? This behavior would result in incorrect and excess capital gains when the coin is eventually disposed of.
Can someone please confirm if a token swap in the Koinly software resets the date acquired?
Thank you
